James Roberts

Sous Chef

James Roberts is the Sous Chef for Flagstaff House Restaurant. His culinary career began at Flagstaff House in May of 2018. Since then, he has been a tremendous asset to our team.

Growing up in New Orleans, James was immersed in a rich culture of Cajun and French cuisines from a young age. This background inspired him to pick up a chef knife of his own and start cooking at home with help from his parents. James moved to Colorado after Hurricane Katrina in 2005, but never lost his childhood passion for food, cooking, and how it can bring people together.

After graduating from CU Boulder, he decided it was time to lean into his passion and turn cooking into a career. Since joining the Flagstaff House family in 2018, James has climbed through the ranks studying under the guidance of Executive Chef Chris Royster and Sous Chef Ben Kramer. During his years at the Flagstaff House and having accrued additional experience in New York from the 2 Michelin Star restaurant Daniel, James has progressed into a leader in the kitchen and an excellent chef.
